About the Event

Forest Terrace Heights Community League is excited to bring Blenderz Garment Recyclers and their creative clothing recycling workshops to our community. The fee includes instruction and all the tools and supplies that you need to create your pieces. All you need to bring is you!

In the Rag Rug class, use a loom (provided) and create a beautiful, cozy rag rug. 3 hours isn't always quite enough time to complete this project so Blenderz includes a one week free rental of the loom so you can take the loom home and finish up. Blenderz will then pick up looms or they can drop them off at the warehouse. No experience needed, this is a beginner class.

Join us in upcycling stretchy garments into a useful rug.

These rugs are colourful, durable, squishy and just plain fun! Using our bathmat size looms and Blenderz Garments that are no longer useful as clothing we will teach you all about how to make a rug of your own.

Blenderz will supply the looms the stretchy material, looms, and scissors participants just need to bring themselves.

Blenderz Garment Recyclers

What we do

Blenderz is a zero waste, zero export, textile recycling company in Edmonton, Alberta. We take garments and other textiles from local thrift stores and charity shops and break down the materials that cannot be resold.

We offer the clothing and textiles that are still very good to you for you to wear, resell, or upcycle yourself.

We promote an Inclusive caring community that supports everyone.

The cost of the garments, workshops and kits are to purely pay for the operating costs of this community service. We want you to have these garments to wear, create with and even resell.

Sanitary procedures are in place to ensure safety to ourselves and our community.

Thank you for being a part of the revolution. Everyone involved that is doing their part thanks you whole heartedly.
