The community league offers a variety of affordable programs throughout the year for members. Discounts on registration are available for community league members from all leagues in Edmonton. 

Current year membership required.

Note that not all programs may not be offered at a given time and programming is often reduced in the summer. Refer to the Upcoming Events page for scheduled sessions.

Walking Sticks

URBAN POLING WALKING GROUP

Forest Terrace Heights Urban Poling Walking Group meets each Wednesday at 7:00pm at the front of the community hall.


Urban Poles were designed by an occupational therapist and their unique grip uses 75% of the muscles in your body including activating the abdominals with each step. They increase calories burned during walking by up to 46%!  They are excellent for seniors and those with chronic conditions such as arthritis and obesity.


Come give them a try! The poles are FREE to use with any community membership and will be given on a first come, first serve basis for use during our community walk. Walks are currently limited at 10 participants.

Hip Hop Class

HIGH FITNESS

Join Layton for an hour long HIGH-intensity cardio workout. High Fitness has choreographed workout moves to upbeat popular music that you will know and love. Your heart will be pumping as he takes you through intervals of cardio tracks as well as toning, barre, ab and arm tracks. High Fitness combines old school aerobic with new techniques to guarantee a class that will leave you sweating and smiling.

Layton Byam is a young university student who has a contagious energy and drive. He stands out among the crowd of High instructors being Canada's only male instructor.

Pilates Work Out

PILATES

Pilates is a gentle form of exercise that can be practiced by people of all ages and physical capabilities. Each class will work to balance all muscle groups strength and flexibility with an emphasis on challenging the core muscles with each movement.  Challenging but safe method to sculpt your body and to feel increased agility in your everyday movements. This is an affordable, casual, friendly atmosphere.

Cleats on Soccer Ball

The community league offers indoor and outdoor soccer for children in the community.

Swimming Pool

SWIMMING

Your community league membership provides you with access to indoor pools for free during specified times. Must have a membership card to gain free access.

Commonwealth Leisure Centre - access entire facility weekly, Saturdays from 5-7pm, year round.

Hardisty Indoor Pool - access weekly, Sundays from 1:15 - 2:45pm,  September to June (note that Hardisty is currently closed for renovations, so a second session is available at Commonwealth from 1-3pm on Sundays).


Pool availability may change due to bookings with the city of Edmonton, please check the pool schedule in advance.

Women Stretching on Yoga Mat

YOGA

Lyndsey, a resident of Forest Terrace Heights offers fun and flexible yoga sessions for all levels.


Classes are a beginner to intermediate Hatha practice with an emphasis on alignment in postures, core strength, flexibility, balance as well as concentration and breath control.

Meditation Class

MEDITATION

No experience needed! These classes are for those new to meditation, or those wishing to deepen their practice in a supportive environment. Each class will include meditation teachings on a different concept each class and 1-2 meditation sessions or Yoga Nidra (a guided sleep meditation).

Modern Dance Class

ZUMBA (ON HIATUS)

Come one, come all, to Zumba®...


Pretty much the most awesome workout ever. Dance to great music, with great people and burn a ton of calories without even realizing it. The class will leave you sweating, glistening, smiling and looking for more fun.


All fitness and experience levels are welcome. Geared for men and women ages 13+. Bring your water bottle, a pair of sneakers, a friend and a smile.
